Essentially, string art is a painting made of threads stretched over nails. To make such a picture, you don’t need to be an artist, but, frankly, you need to be diligent. The finished image will not only decorate your home interior, but will also serve as an excellent gift and decorative element at a wedding or any other occasion.

What is needed for a painting in the style of string art?

• base (thick cardboard, wooden board, plywood);
• threads (sewing, knitting, floss) of one color or several;
• nails or push pins on a long stem with a beautiful cap;
• scissors;
• drawing template.

First of all, you need to decide on the drawing that you want to depict and make a template on paper. After this, the drawing can either be redrawn with a pencil onto our base or driven in nails along the contour of the template lying on the base. The main thing is that the nails are driven in at the same distance from each other. Once all the nails are driven into the base, the template should be pulled out or the pencil erased where possible.

                Place a backing underneath the base to avoid accidentally damaging the surface you are working on.

You need to tie the threads as discreetly as possible. If a tail appears when tying, cut it off.
